Velocity
I'm starting a substack called Velocity.
Coming off the success of Truemed, I want to do something valuable besides indie-development while perparing for my next hard startup. I hope this lets me do something useful for my network of ambitious people with more leverage over my time vs starting or running a company.
"Writing the best fintech newsletter" feels like a slightly-underwhelming goal in the context of inspiring my soul, but I think I'll reap what I sow here, meaning that if I take this activity seriously, it will be fulfilling and help me think more clearly about agentic payments, which will eventually help me start a better company.
It feels almost like cheating because it's such a high-leverage activity compared to building a company. It's waaaay easier to write about an industry than it is to build within it, especially given my relationships + experience from decades of VC-subsidized work. But I need to spend a lot more time & energy on my kids right now.
Anyways, I want to keep this gazzini.com site for myself with a long-term (30-year?) focus, while the substack is primarily for others in my network, with a more immediate focus.
August 2026 — Launching
I wrote my first post; it's a little long, and I'm still finding my voice / niche, but I'm happy with the start.
I want to grow my network of proof-readers and keep the next post even shorter. I might try to create a target for number of readers over time, but not yet!
